"The Heavens are Telling... "

The approaching dawn once again found me, coffee in hand down by the bay standing in the lightest of air with a hint of salt in it.  As sunrise drew near, clouds like the curtains of heaven slowly changed from crimson to the soft golds and blue of early morning.  The music of Haydn's "Creation" playing in my mind described so beautifully the sky that was opening before me...

"The heavens are telling the glory of God,
The wonders of his work displays the firmament"

Those pictures are a perfect lead into our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Since a storm is predicted for Vancouverites, your photos will have to get me through the sunrise/set times of day. I like the progression of shots.

That was a glorious sunrise--I envy your opportunity to catch that eastern sun, and then what you do with the experience is thrilling to see on your blog.

The perfect scripture to explain the glory in the clouds. Well done.

Thank you very much for your comments. Perhaps to be done in the studio and have dominion over all the elements facilitates the creation of a more intimate atmosphere. Greetings

Mark: Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Testing recipes must be a delicious job! With hundreds of cookbooks, I still like to try my own "creations". Of course, they are based on experience gleaned from other sources. When I taught cooking classes, I always tried to create different dishes using classic techniques.

Your photographs are wonderful and I look forward to further exploring your blog--with a cup of coffee in hand.

Best,
Bonnie

I enjoyed the comments on these shots. The last two pictures particularly remiinded me of a metaphor Shakespeare uses in Cymbeline to speak of the sky or heavens. He refers to the skies as being marble. In 5.4.86-89 some ghosts appeal, on their unfortunate living son's behalf, to Jupiter who has "come down" to converse with them: "...Jupiter, our son is good, Take off his miseries. Peep through thy marble mansion. Help..."; and when Jupiter ascends afterwards Sicilius observes: "The marble pavement closes; he is entered his radiant roof." Your last picture in fact strongly resembles the cover of the Folger edition of this play which brings out the marbled look of the blue skies. Really enjoyed those photos!
