The Days Are Getting Longer!

Every year after winter solstice I feel my spirits begin to rise knowing the time of daylight lengthens, darkness shortens and things in general are going the right direction for me, i.e. toward spring and ultimately my favorite time of all, summer.  A sunny day such as last Saturday can make me feel positively giddy even though the temperature was in the low thirties.  It was time to get out, look around, shake off that house-bound feeling and take stock of the current situation knowing that things will only improve.  It was okay to see beach houses still buttoned up...   that will all change in May, so for now the peace and quiet in the sun was like looking at a dormant summer which will begin to waken with the rains of spring.

I love the peace of the winter beaches, this one looks so ready to wake up in the spring!

Terrific shots, Mark! And they do create that feeling of expectation that surely spring/summer can't be that far away! I almost get the feeling the houses along the beach are stretching in the sunlight in anticipation of the arrival of spring! Have a great week!

Oh yeah, a nice sunny, not too cold, winter day and I have to get outside for a while.

Great shots. I like the last best. Kind of a tunnel view.

Of course I would like your shot looking through the stacked wooden chairs! The tunnel has a sense of mystery, even though it begins with such brilliant red boldness.

The beach is a wonderful place even in winter. You are lucky!! And you take great photos too, I like the stacked chairs, the first one. In fact I WANT those chairs. LOL

As always your photos take me on a stroll of your world, a place where I see through your eyes the wonderment of your world.

I miss England so much and your post often take me back to that land, as the images remind me of my past,of real seasons and of ice, snow and blissful cold....

Your dream of Summer is fragrant.
Winter here in Waikiki seems Summer to the visitors, but we can feel Winter.
Yes! The days are longer. Hope!

You live here? How I wish I can visit your place and experience the winter solstice, equinox and some things like that, that I only read from the books... glad you have found me ...and I have found you too!

I added you to my links so I can visit you often.
