Sky Watch Friday

The early morning sun casts long shadows while illuminating everything in it's path with a golden glow. Near perfect reflections appear on undisturbed water and I have a feeling of contented solitude.

Light, Poetry, Beauty: your shots.

I love how the morning sun softly bathes the earth in its warm glow. All of the photographs that you posted are fantastic shots; however, I have two favorites -- the photograph of the rowboats (the lighting is incredible in that photograph) and the photograph of the houses and trees reflected on the still water.

Nice clear shots. So how far is this from Port Jefferson?

You don't often get perfectly still water like that. A pleasure to watch the results.

I like them all, Mark, but the last two --with those marvelous reflections--are the BEST.

'Contented solitude'- you've described your images perfectly!
These are all beautiful and your reflections - excellent.
In your sidebar you state that sometimes you get lucky and get a good one (picture) - I think you must get lucky a lot. :)

Stunning shots, and a sweet "caption."
Glad we found each other ('s blogs).

Continental shores are different from Isle beaches. Ah! The dear Atlantic of my small-kid times!

And I see we are both kayakers too......

Thanks for your comment - stick around, we go to Cape Town quite often as we have elderly folk down there. (We live in Johannesburg)
We love doing the Cape wine routes with it's breathtaking scenery - were there about 6 weeks ago.

Wow! you actually live in proper rural America with flag-waving parades like we see in films!

You have such a different life than mine here that I felt almost tearful at the sight of your surroundings (it's much more urban here & as much as I love Brighton, your home is beautiful)

Thank you for following my blog - I love that I get to see into the lives of other people that I would never usually come across. x

I agree, horizontal light, morning or afternoon, makes great lighting for photography.
