We've just returned from a trip to Seattle, Vancouver, the Canadian Rockies, Oregon and back up to eastern Washington for my niece's wedding. So as an exception to my North Fork theme I'm posting sky/mountain shots from our Great Northwest for Sky Watch Friday.

And they are magnificent shots! I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip to our beautiful northwest -- I live in Seattle, so of course, I'm a bit prejudiced! Your shots of the mountains are gorgeous -- love the one of Mt Rainier from the plane! Incredible clouds!
Awesome shots. I recently saw Mt. Rainier on a flight into Seattle and it is such an awesome sight from a plane.
Awesome shots!!!
Have a great weekend!

All I can say is "WOW"!
Incredible shots!
I've never been to the NW USA; I would LOVE to go someday.
I might be just a bit prejudiced as well since I live in Washington but we do have some really beautiful mountains. Great photos for Sky Watch Friday.
Stunning captures! The mountains and clouds are amazing.
Outstanding captures.
Beautiful shots! I'm doing a sky-watch kind of thing right now. One more video clip... My weather was a little less pleasant!
Beautiful photos of a wonderful landscape! =)
Wow!!!
Very impressive.
I have never been to the Pacific Northwest.
Amazing photos! My favorite is the one from the plane. I like the greenish tint to it.
Welcome back, Mark. I thought you were probably traveling. What a gorgeous area of the country you got to see. I'd love to see all of those areas sometime. WOW!!!!! (Can you just imagine living close enough to Mt. Hood to see it from your windows?????)
Great pictures... I hope you have many more.
Betsy
It looks like you got a better view of Mt. Rainier from the plane than people on the ground were getting.
Great photos. I look forward to getting some of my own next month.
I was in Seattle all last week and was able to get a ground up glimpse of Mt. Rainier from the second story of the house in Freemont only one time. But it stood out starkly at that distance. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see it from the plane.
I can't believe the plane window was that clean. Great exposure.
FANTASTIC views, all three! :)
FANTASTIC views, all three! :)
Ooops....
All good things are three, BUT I'll stop now. ;)
Mark: I really enjoyed my time spent in the area of Mt. Ranier. Thanks for bring the mountain back to my mind.
The plane window was not very clean at all but I had maxed out my optical zoom and so was focused very far from the window. I think that's why the smudges didn't show.
One day I hope to travel to the western part of the U.S. and Canada, with time to explore the natural wonders of that part of North America. I would love to see more photographs from your visit to Northwestern US and the Canadian Rockies. You could always start a new blog that chronicles your travels away from The North Fork of Long Island :-)
Spectacular!
