The Close of a Saturday

Today was beautiful with temperatures in the 70s. It was so busy with traffic and tourists on the North Fork one would have thought we were in high season already. Left turns were nearly impossible. Greenport sidewalks were filled with strolling families walking slowly looking at everything. I saw no empty tables where there was outdoor cafe seating. Faces tilted to the sun after a particularly long, cold, snowy winter. Sand was warm underfoot as we explored the Greenport Harbor breakwater. Late afternoon steamed clams and seafood chowder went well with a brisk white from the Lenz winery on our back deck. At evening I drove up Depot Lane to the Sound just to look and found a quiet sunset.

Your sunset pictures were very nice; I've commented the one that I liked the most.

We visited Bemus Point, NY in Chautauqua County this past Friday. Bemus Point is located on Chautauqua Lake. The village is full of people in the summertime. On Friday there were fishermen out on the piers and some strollers, but nothing like you describe for Greenpoint. Although it was sunny, it was windy and a bit cool on the lake shore. The lake was choppier than I have ever seen it.

Saturday had that "first day" kind of feel to it. Everybody was out.

Great shots. So you edit with iphoto? Just got my first mac last year, and am just getting used to the way iphoto organizes photos.

Yes, I've been using iPhoto for almost all shots. I am planning to use Photoshop Elements 6 (for Mac) soon. The 30 day free trial has run out, now I need to purchase... $80 I think. It has some filters that are simply amazing for tricking photos. I'll send you some if you feel ok giving me your email, and thanks for your nice comments!
