A Valentine's Day Walk

It was a bright sunny day, a good day to walk off some of that cabin fever. It was cold too with chilling winds. We really needed to bundle up but it was very worth while just to get out and stretch. I could feel myself loosening up during our hike through the Inlet Pond Preserve and along the Peconic Bay shoreline. Nothing could be better than to come back home to share our table and cozy hearth with family. One day soon we should see the first buds of Spring.

Wow, I can almost hear that wave. All of your photographs are wonderful, as always. I am watching for that first bud of spring which, to me, is a crocus. I think it might be some weeks, though, before they push their way through the snow.
No snow for you today?? It was snowing non-stop on the west end of Long Island. Or was this another day?

Incredibly beautiful. Nature at its best. The second picture reminds me of our ocean in the summer. Right now our sea is frozen solid and summer feels endlessly removed from our minds...

Love that wave shot. Wonder how that boat keeps upright.
You might have noted that the cozy fire on the hearth following the "bundled up" walk outdoors was fueled with downed apple trees from the Wickham orchard. They made a nice flame color and long-lasting burn.

Dear Mark, I really enjoy all of your photos! We had a lot of snow here too but today just has a "hint" of spring about it. We feed the birds and they chirp so joyfully!

How in the world did the sail boat get that way? Doesn't seem good for the hull... but interesting for a camera bug!
